De tre hesteskulpturene – to p\u00e5 Aker Brygge; The Landing, \u00d8vrevoll Galoppbane;<\/strong> Into the Future<\/strong> og <\/strong>p\u00e5 Filipstadkaia; <\/strong>Challenges Ahead  er en del av et symbolsk arbeide. Den siste i denne serien er Full Control, som man finner p\u00e5 TBS Gallery, i hagen foran Hovedhuset.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hestene kan sees i sammenheng, og er p\u00e5 mange m\u00e5ter Skj\u00f8lsvisk form for livsfrisen. Han gir sjeldent titler til sine verk, men i dette prosjektet har han sett viktigheten av \u00e5 formidle sitt budskap og forsterke dette med titler. Livet er fult av utfordringer, som skal l\u00f8ses eller som ikke blir l\u00f8st. Skj\u00f8lsvik har gjennom hele sitt kunstnerskap valgt \u00e5 se det vakre i det vanskelige. Han har ikke dyrket negativitet, men vendt blikket mot lysglimtene. P\u00e5 tvers av kultur og historie har hester alltid v\u00e6rt et symbol p\u00e5 kraft og skj\u00f8nnhet.<\/p>\n

I Skj\u00f8lsviks hesteskulpturer er det et stort spenn. Mens \u00abVesleblakken\u00bb, i \u00d8vre Rendalen og i Nasjonalmuseet, er en \u00abtrofast traver\u00bb, er Rex Rodney p\u00e5 Forus Travbane i Stavanger en skarp konkurrent. Den kjente \u00abVesleblakken-prisen\u00bb er initiert av fortellingen om Vesleblakken. Den gis til en person som har utmerket seg ved uegennyttig innsats. I 2007 gikk prisen til Leger uten grenser og i 2016 til Per Fugelli. <\/strong><\/p>\n

P\u00e5 TBS Gallery kan man kj\u00f8pe nummererte hesteskulpturer i mindre st\u00f8rrelse av Skj\u00f8lsviks form for livsfrisen.<\/p>\n
